Job Overview We are seeking a talented and motivated Marine Compliance Engineer to support the design, analysis, and development of autonomous surface vessels. This role will provide hands-on experience in traditional ship design and advanced autonomous technologies; driving impact in defense innovation. Responsibilities: Advise engineering team on applicable maritime standards and regulations Support reliability engineering team on requirements definition and tracking Participate in systems engineering activities including concept development, system design, integration, and testing Perform internal audits for compliance against maritime standards prior to release of drawings to class societies or flag state bodies. Track and adjudicate comments received from class society reviews Support the engineering design cycle process as a subject matter expert to ensure teams adhere to our hardware design best practices, and analysis best practices Develop and maintain engineering design best practices to expedite engineering workflows Research and stay updated on new developments in naval architecture, marine engineering, autonomous technology, and defense requirements Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for system requirements, testing requirements, verification and validation Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineer, Ocean Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of engineering experience in designing to or verify class society rules Experience working on a variety of vessel sizes and types within the marine industry, such as military vessels, high speed craft, and large commercial ships Strong fundamentals in core marine design principles, including naval architecture, structures, mechanical, electrical, etc. Strong expertise with marine standards, processes, and regulations such as ABS, DNV, LR, USCG, RINA, etc. Modeling/CAD experience such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Nx Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional standing and walking within the office. Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports.
