Our Cookie Commitment
GRC Careers uses only the cookies necessary to operate this platform. We do not use
advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are
widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information
to website operators.
Cookies can be "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent"
cookies, which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them. They can be set
by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services used on
that website ("third-party cookies").
2. Cookies We Use
We use a minimal number of cookies, limited to those necessary to operate and improve this platform.
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking
technologies.
Strictly Necessary by Default
This platform operates on a strictly-necessary-by-default, zero-tracking architecture. We use absolutely no marketing or advertising cookies, no cross-context behavioral tracking pixels, no third-party data-broker tags, and no device or browser fingerprinting technology. The only cookie set is the single authentication cookie described below, required for the site to work. Because we do not engage in tracking or the sale of personal data, there is no behavioral profile to opt out of.
The one cookie we set
The only cookie this site places is a single first-party authentication cookie:
-
grc_sess (essential, authentication) - Set only after you log in or register
as an employer. It keeps you securely signed in across page loads. It holds a random session
identifier, not your name, email, or any personal information, and it carries the HttpOnly,
Secure, and SameSite=Lax security flags. It expires after 30 days and is cleared the moment you
log out. Visitors who are not logged in receive no cookie at all.
Your cookie choice is not a cookie
When you set your preferences in our cookie banner, that choice is saved in your browser's local
storage, not in a cookie, and it is never sent to our servers.
Analytics
We currently set no analytics cookies. If we ever add analytics, it will be a privacy-respecting,
combine-only tool, nothing will load until you opt in through the cookie preferences, and we will
update this page before that changes.
HTML Storage Objects
We use a single HTML storage object: one localStorage entry in your browser that records your
cookie-consent choice (whether you allowed optional analytics, and the date you set it). It holds no name,
email, or other personal information, it never leaves your browser, and it is never transmitted to our
servers. We do not use sessionStorage, IndexedDB, Flash local stored objects, or any other
local storage technology.
Web Tags (Web Beacons and Pixels)
We use none. There are no tracking pixels, web beacons, clear GIFs, or advertising tags anywhere on this
platform, and we embed nothing that reports your activity back to us or to a third party.
Embedded Scripts
Nearly all script on this site is our own, served from our own domain. The only third-party embedded script
is Cloudflare Turnstile, which loads on our contact form to tell humans from bots and block
spam. It is a privacy-preserving tool and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Payments are
handled by Stripe through a redirect to Stripe's own checkout page, so no Stripe script runs on our pages.
Social share buttons are static links that transmit nothing unless you click them.
What we do NOT use:
- No advertising cookies of any kind.
- No retargeting pixels (Meta, Google Ads, or similar).
- No cross-site tracking technologies that follow your activity on other websites.
- No preference or settings cookies. Your account settings and job-alert preferences are stored in your account on our servers, not in a cookie.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some features of this platform involve third-party services that may place their own cookies
on your device. These cookies are governed by the respective third party's privacy and
cookie policies, not by this Cookie Policy.
-
Stripe - We use Stripe to process payments for job postings. When you reach a
Stripe payment page, Stripe may set cookies on its own domain for fraud prevention and payment
processing. These are governed by
Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Stripe sets no cookies on our site when you are not paying.
-
Cloudflare - Our network provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie
(for example, to tell humans from bots and block attacks). This is infrastructure-level
protection, not tracking.
-
Cloudflare Turnstile - On our contact form we load Cloudflare's Turnstile script to
tell humans from bots and block spam submissions. Turnstile is a privacy-preserving alternative to
traditional CAPTCHAs and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. It is governed by
Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
We do not integrate advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or any third-party
services whose primary purpose is behavioral advertising or retargeting.
4. Managing Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored on your device and delete them individually or in bulk.
- Block third-party cookies.
- Block cookies from specific websites.
- Block all cookies from being set.
- Delete all cookies when you close your browser.
Browser-specific instructions for managing cookies can typically be found in your browser's
"Help," "Settings," or "Preferences" menu. Common browsers include:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Please be aware that disabling essential or functional cookies may affect the operation of
this platform. Specifically, blocking the authentication cookie will prevent you from staying
logged in to your account.
5. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices,
technology, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last
updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users
via email or a notice on the platform.
Your continued use of the platform after any changes to this Cookie Policy are posted
constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
