Privacy Engineer

Role summary

[Company] is hiring a Privacy Engineer to embed privacy by design across products, data pipelines, and AI systems. Reporting to the [Head of Privacy / CISO], you will build technical privacy controls, support privacy reviews, and help engineering teams meet obligations under [GDPR / CCPA / CPRA / sector rules].

Key responsibilities

• Privacy by design. Translate privacy requirements into technical controls and reusable reference patterns.
• Data mapping. Support the data inventory, data-flow mapping, and records of processing.
• Techniques. Implement de-identification, minimization, encryption, and differential privacy where appropriate.
• AI and data. Advise on privacy for training data, model outputs, and AI features.
• Reviews. Support data protection impact assessments and privacy reviews for new systems.
• Tooling. Build or integrate privacy tooling and automation.
• Collaboration. Partner with engineering, legal, and security.

Required qualifications

• [3 to 7] years in software or data engineering, with a focus on privacy or security.
• Understanding of privacy regulation such as GDPR and CCPA or CPRA and how it maps to systems.
• Hands-on engineering skills and familiarity with data pipelines.
• Experience implementing privacy-enhancing techniques.

Preferred qualifications

• CIPT, CIPP, or equivalent.
• Experience with privacy for machine learning or analytics.
• Experience in a regulated industry such as [financial services / healthcare / insurance / public sector].
